Polo Leteka

Polo Leteka is the Founder and Chairman of IDF Group. Polo is an accountant by training and has varied experience in both the Public and Private sectors of South Africa which includes accounting and auditing, corporate finance, investments banking, pubic policy formulation and venture capital and private equity in the SME sector. At a fairly young age, Polo was tasked with leading the process of developing South Africa’s first-ever Codes of Good Practice on Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment with a Government policy seeking to transform the South African economic landscape to be more reflective of its population demographics. As a result of this groundbreaking work which has changed how Corporate South Africa interacts with the rest of the economy, she is considered a thought leader in areas of economic transformation and development.

Designed and extracted a software technology innovation program to accelerate, scale and commercialize early-stage startups through value creation and portfolio performance support.

Developed a demand-driven agricultural business development support intervention that enabled Black young farmers to improve their operations, productivity and market competitiveness.

Provided a strategic advisory in the setup of new entity wholly owned by black entrepreneurs that received market access support, capacity development and funding as part of Shell’s BBBEE  Enterprise & Supplier Development transformation imperative.

Performed a needs analysis across all SMMEs and structured suitable funding alternatives that addressed critical working capital challenges.

Structured, managed and implemented the ESD solutions for Liquid Telecom and as a result, the entry was able to attain maximum points on ESD for BBBEE compliance.
